Before I post the link to the demo there a few things that need to be established.

There are reported issues with the twitter API background autopost at the twitter developer forum. Basically, when the background is "auto" posted through their api, the change is not always immediate. The image seems to be cached in their system. And although, "twitter support" claims that they have it working, it apparently is not. There seems to be ongoing posts on their forum about this but it goes unanswered. We've already checked a number of other sites that have the autopost and they all have the same issues.

*note: in addition to the background image having a delay, the "tile" option is delayed as well

So what does this mean?

1. We provide both the manual upload option as well as the autopost for the most flexibility. If the user decides to autopost, once they submit their info and the background is uploaded, they will be instructed along the following lines:

"Note: If your background does not show up right away, try this trick: Login to Twitter > Settings > Design > Click Save Changes. If Twitter is having problems it could take a few hours for your background to show up."

2. You'll need to make an effort to post at the developers forum to make your voice heard. The more people that complain about it, the better chances we have to get it working.

Standalone Live Site

Live CACMS Site integrated with the Twitter script

http://www.twistedglitters.com/twitter_layouts/

Features

1. one click download (for manual uploads)
2. background/colors PREVIEW
3. autopost followed by auto "add as friend" + auto "tweet" + auto "follow"

How to add new content

1. FTP Drag and drop => folder with background image + twitter.xml file
2. The twitter.xml file has the following info

<twitter>
<background>#ffffff</background>
<tile>Yes</tile>
<text>#F23282</text>
<links>#9B24E6</links>
<sidebar>#ffffff</sidebar>
<sidebar-border>#ffffff</sidebar-border>
</twitter>

You won't be able to add new content through the demo at this time.

Ok, have fun!!! And please post your feedback! Keep in mind, you'll have control of the look of your page, so please only comment on the features.

I like it. Though I don't know what 3. autopost followed by auto "add as friend" + auto "tweet" + auto "follow". Maybe because of the cache I can't see my layout yet. I will have to wait. There is also an error on the demo page until I login. :)

These are my observations....

1. You have to actually be logged in to twitter.com AND the demo for it to work.. So that has to be made clear to the user.

2. The background images are not tiling on my profile.. I had to go in and set it to tile. If it can't be made to tile them automatically, instructions for the user should be added.

In reference to 1...don't log in on twitter, attempt to do the autopost and see if does the autotweet and color changes. If it did, then there actually isn't an issue with the autopost. The autopost should work immediately with the exception of the background

In reference to 2...we'll check on the tiling.

Ok, I logged back into the demo, without logging in to twitter and used the autopost button, and guess what, it worked this time!

AND since I had already set my background to tile at twitter the last time I tried it, I didn't have to do it again this time, so the background IS tiling.

But I guess you will need to tell the users to do that if they haven't already.

Now, as for the auto "add as friend" and auto "follow" , I'm not seeing that happen, but I did get the auto "tweet", which by the way is FABULOUS....

Any idea as of yet how much this is going to cost, and is it a definate yes on using it on sites that run cacms?

So far:

1. we'll need to check on the tiling, as I observed this issue as well

2. anyone else having issues with the autofriend + autofollow? Keep in mind, in this demo, you're account will be added to "twitter.com/commentvault" as a friend and set to follow this account

3. the script is designed to either be a standalone or to work alongside any script, including cacms & elcms

4. As far as pricing, $49 :) If you need help with installation, marshall will charge a nominal fee. At the moment, we haven't set up the order button as we haven't "officially" released the script.

Shouldn't each background have its own page? For searches and links, or does it not matter?

If you want to click through to another page per background, we will provide a tutorial and php script to accomplish that.

Ok, we are releasing the script. But we need everyone interested in purchasing to post here that they understand and accept the limitations of the script as stated in the initial post. Please read the initial post again :)

you can follow this link to place an order

http://lic.creativeaftermath.com/order.php?cmd=products/licenses/list&product_id=6

we will need to approve the purchase before the script is released. :) So make sure, if you haven't already done so, post that you have read and accepted the limitations of the script as stated in the first post.

Once you have the script, please refer to the installation reference here:

It's good for one site. However, each additional site is 50% off.
